The E&H Foundation, founded in September 2012, was set up to “enable quality education and health services for the underprivileged in India, with a special focus on Uttar Pradesh”.
Since its inception, E&H Foundation has enabled quality education for more than 17,000 children in three districts of Uttar Pradesh – Farrukhabad, Lucknow, and Kanpur. In 2018-19 we are educating 7000 children, 55% of which will be girls.
E&H Foundation follows the dictum – “Think Big – Start Small – Scale Fast”.
Hence, the Foundation decided to employ the strategy of building long term partnerships with implementing organisation, which have proven successful and replicable models on the ground, as well as with like minded individuals and corporate houses, who understand critical development challenges and want to address the inequities in our society.
So far, we have partnered with two uniquely different yet successful models providing education from classes 1-5 and achieved huge impact on the ground. More than 80% children in our programme are first generation learners and independent assessments show, children receiving education through these models, perform at par with the best CBSE schools in India. E&H Foundation is aiming to reach 100,000 children by 2025 through expansion in more districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Our Trustees provided seed funding to launch the programme on the ground and since then we have steadily developed partnerships with corporate houses and individual donors to fund our programmes. Our Trustees have committed to fund all overhead costs thus ensuring all donations go directly for the education of the children. At E&H Foundation we practice highest levels of transparency and governance and all our financial records and audited statements can be accessed here on our website.
